The Redmond Company was selected to put together a
master plan for the existing site in Niles, Michigan. The
main objective was to design and construct a secondary
operation building closer to Indiana that would appeal to
employees and o昀昀er an inviting and comfortable work
environment.
Redmond designed the two-story o昀케ce building to
coordinate with the design of the existing branch facility
on the UFCU campus. The unique architectural elements
of the building provide a functional and clean aesthetic,
utilizing beautiful wood accents and natural light with a
co昀昀ee shop atmosphere. Inside, the work area features
昀氀exible o昀케ce furniture to accommodate evolving work
groups. The multiple conference rooms vary in decor
and furniture, providing both formal and informal meeting
spaces. A large lower level conference room and cafeteria
space opens to 昀椀t the entire building sta昀昀.
A unique detail of the building is the exposed lower level.
Taking advantage of the natural space and built into
a hill, the lower level is exposed, featuring substantial
windows providing maximum daylight. By utilizing the
site appropriately, The Redmond Company team created
a design that maximized the site plan and created a
comfortable work space for the team members at UFCU.
